A salvaged redwood door got a new life as the door to the master suite and a pull out pocket bar. Designed to securely hold the bottles without overdoing it, we skipped the LED lighting and custom hardware in favor of off the shelf simplicity.

We worked with our millworker to create numerous historically accurate details with which to restore these beautiful Piedmont homes.
Frequently, architects and builders focus on what is commercially available and complies with the design criteria from the planning board. While that can be adequate, custom mouldings create a cohesive look that ties the past into the present and increases value for restoration minded homeowners.
Depending on the exact details, you may be able to apply for a Mill’s Act credit to contribute toward ongoing historical restoration improvements.
We designed and fabricated this matching vanity and medicine cabinet from old growth douglas fir floor joists salvaged from the demolition for another one of our projects. We love this wood for stain-grade millwork: it is strong and dense and beautifully shows the character of its past use.
