Lookfar Builders brought new life to the heart of this historic property by opening up walls, bringing light and spaciousness to the kitchen, dining room, central stairwell, and home office nook.
During our work, we peeled back the layers of accumulated renovations to expose the original structure of the building. We added strength and resilience to the building by installing modern, engineered lumber and hardware to resist seismic forces and restored the interior framing with period details like the coved ceiling plaster and a completely rebuilt oak stairway.
The kitchen received updated cabinets, counter-tops, and new oak flooring while we enhanced the functionality of the home office with a new pocket door to replace the hinged entry door and a new closet.
