Lookfar Builders performed extensive renovations on this classic Mediterranean house. The client’s intent to preserve the original look and feel of the stately residence informed the design for all of the upgrades and renovation.
To tie all of our new work in with the original, we had our millworker cut six different custom profiles for the mix of stain and paint-grade mouldings we matched throughout the house. We replaced seven exterior doors, four pairs of windows and three interior doors with custom-milled true divided lite doors that matched the house’s original architecture.
We remodeled the entire master suite, bringing it fully up-to-date with bonuses like radiant in-floor heating and a steam shower, while retaining the stately feel appropriate for the house’s original era.
Elsewhere in the house, we converted the study into a modern family room, decorated with stain-grade redwood box beams and mouldings we had custom milled from salvaged lumber to match the trim details found elsewhere in the house.
Additionally, we stained and re-finished all of the oak flooring in the house, replaced 600 SF of carpet, remodeled a powder room and installed copper gutters.
